'DF2 MultiPlayer Map Monitor'
This is the freeware version of the program that provides the TubettiWorld game play described below. It only does the map advancement, and does not provide the Tim-of-day function, variable weather, or other features you will have encountered while playing on TubettiWorld. Those advanced features will be available in the shareware release, to come in September, 2000, sometime. Download the zip file: df2mapmonsetup.exe (204 kb)

'TubettiWorld'
The intent with TubettiWorld is to have one long war that may last for weeks, 24 hours/day - 7 days/week. The Scarlet Empire and Bluetannia have declared war on each other and are actively harassing each other's frontiers, even as you read this. Sign up for one side or the other by emailing us - include your game nickname and regular email address. The Scarlet Empire can be joined by putting the team preference 'Red', and 'Blue' for Bluetannia.
Bluetannia advances northwards with each win, the Scarlet Empire advances southwards. In the case of a draw, the map does not change. The time-of-day advances 4 hours for each map played, with 6 maps comprising a full day. There is an 8% chance of rain in terrains where rain is possible (as decided by the map maker) and 5% chance of snow in the snowy terrains. Fog and wind are introduced depending on the weather, time-of-day and terrain type. E-mail notification is possible for notification of campaign starts, and Blue or Red Final Victories. 'INFILTRATION'
Sort of like a 'Reverse Capture-The-Flag'
You still capture the enemy's flags, but your team's Flag Bay is *deep inside* the enemy's base ! You must fight, sneak, or otherwise infiltrate into the enemy base (and that just so happens to be where the enemy spawns...) and get the flag to your Flag Bay. The flags for both sides are equidistant from either base, so the pickup effort is balanced to start. It's the delivery that gets hard....
- JAILBREAK
'Jailbreak' has been discontinued - too hard to get working properly in the limited time I have available for this. Making an opening and closing entrance to the jail is almost, but not, impossible - and it *is* awkward !
- Tips
- only go prone in tall grass or in open behind cover. If you go prone in buildings, you will probably end up with your feet sticking out of a wall. If your feet get cut off from outside, you will bleed to death.
- stay away from walls in general - visibility issues may cause your arm, knee or elbow to be visible from outside the wall.
- use bombs & mines (grenades or satchel charges) with caution when in side buildings. You teammates will not appreciate to have minutes of zone-holding wasted by your indiscriminate bombing.
- please dont clutter the games with clan recruiting. A simple query or two is fine, but continued pestering may lead to a vote by players to have you punted and or tossed. We are not recruiting for clans here at TubettiLand, so dont ask us to put a recruiting poster up for you. If you want a link to your clan site, then that may be ok. Just email us.
- there is no way with the demo version to predetermine what team you get to play on.
