HEFS scenarios can be applied to many different safety areas around the home, for both investigative and direct action training.
Scenarios can be created to help train in identifying common safety hazards in the home from toddler hazards like un-blocked basement stairways, to fire hazards like storing old rags in cardboard boxes in the attic and smoke detectors with dead batteries.

Family members can then use the same scenario configuration to train with by repeatedly running through the scenario until they achieved satisfactory scores in timing, sequencing, and reactive decisions. Various routes for evacuating a home can be tried, in total safety, to examine their suitability.

The HEFS module can be adapted, with miminal modification, to a wide variety of workplace and domestic environments, including shop safety audits, plant floor safety procedures, hotel evacuation plan testing, and so on.
